Death cases surge to 26 due to Corona virus in 24 hours

Death cases in Pakistan surged to 26 reportedly due to the novel corona virus in last 24 hours. The number of fatalities reached to 6,893 in the overall nationwide tally. The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), recorded 1,302 new positive corona virus cases in the second spell of this pandemic.

The active coronavirus cases crossed 15,317 from 14,646 in a day. The number of recovered cases is also commendable reaching 316,665. In the past 24 hours, almost 32,376 Covid-19 tests have been carried out for the detection of new cases. So far, 4,573,768 tests have been conducted all over the country.

Sindh has been worst with maximum number of Covid-19 cases. Then, Punjab was the most hit province followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

New Confirmed Corona Virus Cases Identified

Sindh recorded 147,787 total number of confirmed corona virus cases. Punjab reached 105,535 number of cases hit by the pandemic. KPK recorded 40,022 confirmed cases, whereas number of cases in Islamabad are 20,694, Balochistan are 16,026, Azad Kashmir are 4,491 and 4,320 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The lives lost due to this pandemic in Sindh are 2,647, Punjab lost 2,385 lives, KP had 1,284, Balochistan 152, Islamabad 229, GB 92 and in Azad Kashmir 104.

Special Assistant of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan told in a talk show that Pakistanis are having this wrong perception that they wont be affected much by this corona virus. They should be careful in their activities and responsibilities as a citizen. The second wave has already hit the country infecting a number of people by the virus.

Dr. Faisal informed that Pakistan recovered immensely from the pandemic in the recent past, but the cases surged again in only few weeks and this is alarming. The winter is coming and it will be really difficult to survive through the pandemic in this weather. The people need to be warned to protect themselves from worst scenarios.

Dr. Faisal said that health workers have now coped up with this and they have better facilities and authorities are very much concerned to finish this virus. All the four provinces are asked to cope up with this deadly virus in worst times by acing in their capabilities and health facilities. He also said that implementation of SOPs should be ensured with all the necessary precautions in educational institutions rather than in market places and wedding halls. He believed that the corona virus infection has raised due to violation of SOPS.
