The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), despite its best efforts, has utterly failed to stop the cheating gang during the current annual intermediate examinations.

On July 18, a Saturday, the examinations for grades 11 and 12 began. Before the test began, two papers—one from each portion of intermediate—had been leaked in less than four days.

The class 11 exam for Principles of Commerce was set for Tuesday, June 21, while the class 12 exam for Mathematics was scheduled for Monday, June 20.

However, prior to the commencement of the tests, these topics’ exam questions began to circulate on social media sites, mainly WhatsApp.

The BIEK has also failed to stop students from using cellphones during tests despite the restriction on them inside exam rooms since the invigilators have little interest in upholding the rule.

Due to BIEK’s designation of more pupils than the seating limitations of several test sites, hundreds of students around the district are required to submit their final exams while seated on the floor.

It seems that the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) flagrantly mismanaged the just completed annual matriculation examinations, and the BIEK did not take the lesson to heart.

Repeated instances of paper leaks, public usage of mobile phones, cheating tools, and answer manuals plagued the matric examinations in Karachi. Additionally, it was often claimed that students were made to hand in papers while seated on the ground in the sweltering heat.
