Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) On Thursday, Chairman Asim Ahmad introduced IRIS 2.0, an enhanced edition of the tax filing system created by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) at the FBR Headquarters.
IRIS 2.0 represents a major achievement in tax administration as it brings notable improvements to user experience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for the FBR. Although IRIS 1.0 and its follow-up version, IRIS 1.1, were groundbreaking, they encountered various obstacles that affected their performance and user satisfaction, along with the need for expensive hardware during peak usage.

Addressing these concerns head-on, IRIS 2.0 has undergone a major transformation, with a focus on robust backend enhancements and an intuitive frontend design, ensuring a seamless experience for both users and the FBR.
