ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed “astonishment” at the response of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to his demand for general elections on Sunday.
“Amazed by the response of PDM to our request for general elections,” the premier posted on his Twitter account.
Isn’t it better for PDM to accept elections rather than being part of a foreign conspiracy for regime change; and indulging in blatant purchasing of loyalties thereby destroying our nation’s moral fibre?

Recalling past assertions, he said that they [the Opposition] have been screaming “hoarse” about how our government has failed [and] lost the [people’s] support, so “why the dread of elections now?”
“Democrats turn to the [people] for support,” he added, pushing them to accept the current situation.
“Isn’t it better for PDM to accept elections rather than be a part of a foreign plot for regime change; and participating in blatant buying of allegiance, therefore eroding our nation’s moral fiber?” wrote the prime minister.
PM Imran Khan also spoke to his party leaders and poked fun at the Opposition after successfully avoiding the Opposition’s no-confidence resolution, which was based on a foreign plot, and ordered the president of the nation to dissolve the National Assembly.
“The opposition is still baffled by today’s events,” the prime minister joked.
Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, went on to say, “You were all trying to remain calm last night. Right now, the opposition has no idea what’s going on. They wouldn’t have been surprised if I’d told them what I was about to do yesterday.”
