ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who was deposed as Pakistan’s first prime minister after a no-confidence vote, spoke at the Shaukat Khanum Fundraising Ceremony in Islamabad on Saturday, his last public appearance.
During the occasion, the former prime minister called on the private sector to help the government in delivering free and low-cost health care to the people.
He said that Pakistan was heading toward the “Riyasat-e- Madinah’s” essential ideals of humanity, fairness, and self-respect, and that it will soon be one of the great countries.
The premier said that the state is responsible for the care of the weaker members of society and that the PTI-led government has introduced health cards to give health coverage to the people.
He said that with the health universal card, every family will be able to get free treatment worth up to one million rupees.
According to the former prime minister, every citizen has had health coverage for three years, and the “Sehat Card” project would assist expand the breadth of private hospitals in the nation.
According to Khan, Pakistan is one of the world’s most charitable countries, having contributed Rs63 billion to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital for free cancer treatment.
According to the former prime, cancer is a deadly illness with high treatment costs, hence more hospitals are required in the nation.
