Kings‘ have struggled to find the proper balance in their batting lineup without Colin Ingram and an out-of-form Sharjeel Khan, placing further pressure on captain Babar Azam.
Mohammad Nabi and previous captain Imad Wasim have struggled to produce with the bat, therefore Kings’ lower-order batting has been below average.
Mohammad Amir, the Kings’ leading bowler, has been ruled out of the competition due to a back ailment, hurting the bowling assault of the 2020 winners.
Kings suffered yet another setback as pacer Mohammad Ilyas suffered a shoulder injury that ruled him out of the competition.
For the duration of the competition, Usman Shinwari has been allowed as a substitute for Ilyas.
Chris Jordan, an England pacer, arrived in Karachi on February 2nd and is expected to participate in tonight’s match against Karachi Kings.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United, who have lost two of their four matches, will try to take advantage of a Kings team that is struggling, in order to improve their table position.
Paul Stirling and Alex Hales, United’s first-team pairing, are a dangerous combination and a difficult opponent to stop once they get a foothold.
Shadab Khan has been a revelation in this season’s PSL, excelling both with the bat and with the ball.
Shadab struck a 32-ball 52 and claimed four wickets against Lahore Qalandars in the previous encounter, conceding just 20 runs.
United’s speed attack, on the other hand, has to be improved. Hasan Ali has been unable to produce with the ball due to a lack of form. Hasan Ali let up 43 runs in three costly overs against the Lahore Qalandars. Muhammad Wasim Jr, a young pacer, also let up 39 runs in three overs.
