Following a substantial tax increase, telecom providers have raised the alarm and warned of implementing phone Call Loadshedding‘ throughout the nation, which is similar to power outages.
During a session of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance, telecommunications officials assured senators that, like electricity, phone call load shedding will happen the following day.
Representatives from the telecom companies briefed members of the Senate’s standing committee on communications.
“We seek that the advance tax on fiber optic imports is reduced to 8%.” The telecom industry’s equipment has been regarded as a luxury item. In addition, import tariffs have been raised by 20%.”
According to them, barely 10% of Pakistan’s towers are equipped with fiber optics. We will lose the global contest as a consequence of the difficult telecom choices.
