How many ex nba players are jehovah witnesses – There are many former NBA players who have embraced the faith of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but it is difficult to estimate the exact number. Unlike some other religions, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not keep records of their members, and they do not release statistics about their membership.

However, some former NBA players have publicly shared their experiences with the faith, including their decision to become Jehovah’s Witnesses. One notable example is A.C. Green, who played in the NBA from 1985 to 2001 for teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, and Dallas Mavericks. Green has been a devout Jehovah’s Witness since his college years and has remained committed to the faith throughout his NBA career and beyond.

Another former NBA player who has become a Jehovah’s Witness is Mark Jackson, who played in the league from 1987 to 2004. Jackson was raised in a Jehovah’s Witness family and continued to practice the faith throughout his basketball career. He has since become a minister and regularly speaks about his faith to audiences around the world.

Other former NBA players who have embraced the faith of Jehovah’s Witnesses include Michael Adams, Pervis Ellison, Eddie Griffin, and Michael Jordan’s father, James Jordan. While these players may be the most well-known examples, there are likely many others who have quietly embraced the faith without making it a public part of their lives.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the importance of following the teachings of the Bible and living a simple and moral life. They do not celebrate holidays or participate in activities such as voting or military service. Their faith also prohibits them from receiving blood transfusions or accepting certain medical treatments.

While the exact number of former NBA players who have become Jehovah’s Witnesses is unknown, it is clear that the faith has had an impact on some players’ lives both during and after their basketball careers. Despite the challenges and sacrifices involved in following the faith, many former players have found fulfillment and purpose in their commitment to the beliefs and practices of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

#1 Darren Collison

From 2009 to 2019, Darren Collison was a member of the NBA. He played four years for the Indiana Pacers and three years for the Sacramento Kings. The point guard also played for Dallas, New Orleans, and both Los Angeles teams.

In 2019, the guard decided to retire and focus on his faith. He made this decision at 31 years of age after coming off a season in which he averaged 11.2 points and 6 assists per game with the Pacers.

#2 Danny Granger

Another player who played for the Indiana Pacers and is a Jehovah’s Witness is Danny Granger.

Granger played for the Pacers for nine seasons and was one of the team’s leading scorers. Following his time with the Pacers, the forward went on to play for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat. Unfortunately for him, he could not win a championship.

Granger was raised in a religious household by Jehovah’s Witnesses, but wasn’t baptized until 2017, two years after his final season in the NBA.

#3 Dewayne Dedmon

Dewayne Dedmon is one of the best role players in the NBA. However, the 7-foot center may not have been in the NBA if he had followed his mother’s advice. Dedmon was raised in a household by Jehovah’s Witnesses and his mother forbade him from playing basketball.

As a teenager, he was skinny and due to his family’s religion, he wasn’t coached. However, he put in the work and was eventually picked up by the NBA.

Dedmon hasn’t won a championship yet and is entering the final stages of his career. His story is very inspiring and proof that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
