Weather update: Chief Meteorologist at Pakistan Meteorological Department, Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz, announced that a new spell of rain, hailstorms, and snow is expected across the country starting from February 25.
Moreover, Karachi and parts of Balochistan are also predicted to experience light showers accompanied by thunderstorms during this period.
Sarfaraz mentioned that substantial precipitation, coupled with snowfall in the northern areas, is predicted to begin next week as a result of the impact of westerly waves.
“We are expecting some good rains from Feb 25, which will continue till March or may even extend to April under the influence of westerly waves”, he said.
The main weather expert said that snow could fall on hills in the north soon. This might stop fog and smog across the country. He told people to be careful during this weather.
Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz shared good news for tourists heading to Swat and Chitral to see snow. He mentioned that these places will have a lot of snowfall during this time.
