Education ministers from the federal and provincial levels met on Tuesday to consider a proposal to move winter holidays at educational institutions from December to January.
According to a representative for the federal education ministry, all provincial ministers were consulted before making decisions on the winter break. However, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) will make the ultimate decision on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
The conference, which was chaired by Wajeeha Akram, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education, discussed improvements in the provincial education system as well as a suggestion to move the winter vacation to January.
It’s worth noting that the Sindh government has previously declared that educational institutions would be closed from December 20 to January 1. As a result, academic activities will begin again on January 3.
